## How credits work

The editor is free and open source. That covers the full editor, the `dapi` CLI, agent skills, agentic workflows, and unlimited exports up to 4K with no watermark.

Credits are spent when Diffusion Studio runs an AI model. That covers letting your agent edit videos for you, watching your footage, finding the best moments, transcribing and captioning, and generating video, images, music, speech, and sound effects.

Agentic workflows are always available. Whether one spends credits depends on what it needs: editing video usually means watching or transcribing it, while building motion graphics usually does not.

How many credits an action costs depends on the model, its configuration, and the duration of the media.

Monthly credits are allocated on each billing date and do not roll over. You can top up at any time.

### Why are there paid plans if Diffusion Studio is free?

Diffusion Studio is completely free and open source. That includes the editor, `dapi`, skills, agentic editing workflows, and unlimited video exports up to 4K. Paid plans give you credits for AI-powered actions like generating video, images, audio or speech, understanding footage, and transcription. Use those credits in the editor, through `dapi`, or let your agent use them while working on your project.

### What uses credits?

Generating video, images, audio, or speech uses credits. Credits are also used when Diffusion Studio runs models to analyze footage or transcribe media. How many credits an action uses depends on the model, configuration, and media duration.

### Do I need a paid plan to edit with agents?

No. Coding agent support and agentic editing workflows are free. Your agent can edit, create motion graphics, animate scenes, and work on your project without a paid plan. Credits are only needed when it uses AI models, for example to watch footage, transcribe it, or generate media.

### Do exports cost credits?

No. Exporting does not require credits. You can export unlimited videos up to 4K with no watermark on any plan.

### What happens when I run out of credits?

You can top up credits anytime. Editing, exporting, and coding agent workflows continue to work without them. To resume AI features, top up credits anytime or wait for your next monthly credit allocation.

### Do unused credits roll over?

No. Monthly credits are allocated on each billing date and do not roll over. If you need more during a billing cycle, you can top up anytime.

### How do annual billing and volume discounts work?

Volume discounts apply to larger credit bundles on both monthly and annual plans. Annual billing adds an additional 24% savings, for up to 40% total savings.

### Can I change my credit tier later?

Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade your credit tier at any time.

### Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. You can cancel your subscription anytime. Your projects, editing, exports, `dapi`, skills, and agentic editing workflows keep working.

### Can I get a refund?

If you’re an EU consumer, you can withdraw from a subscription within 14 days of purchase by emailing contact@diffusion.studio. This right ends once the credits from that billing cycle have been fully used. Outside the statutory withdrawal period, fees are non-refundable except where required by law or at our discretion. ### Can I use Diffusion Studio for commercial work?

Yes. You can use Diffusion Studio for commercial work on every plan, including Free. The open-source license applies to the software, not the videos you create with it. You keep the rights to your inputs and own AI-generated outputs to the extent legally possible, subject to applicable law and the terms of the underlying model providers.
