# Code as the source of truth

Code is the new database.

Projects in the desktop app now live in local source files, replacing browser storage. You can open them in your preferred code editor, organize them alongside your other work, and manage them with your own tools. Your project becomes a codebase you and your agent can work on together.

## Your changes stay in context

Visual editing and code stay in sync. It works both ways: changes in the editor update the source code, and changes in code update the editor instantly on save. Think of it as an IDE for video, where you render code as video.

Adjust the spacing of a title or move an animation by a single frame. The source records those choices as precise values your agent can read, reuse, and compare across versions.

The project also saves your canvas zoom and position, giving your agent context about where you’re working alongside the changes you’ve made.

## Ready for your agent

Every project comes with source files, an asset library, and instructions that point your agent to the editing docs and examples included with the desktop app.

The app saves changes to the composition and asset library in the project folder. Imported media stays in its original location, linked through the asset library, while generated media is saved in the project’s assets folder.

If you prefer to keep media with the project, place it in the project folder before importing, or ask your agent to move it there and update the file references.

## Turn your edits into reusable skills

The work you put into one video can become a workflow for future projects. Your layout, typography, timing, and animation are recorded in code, giving your agent a precise starting point for a reusable skill. That skill can combine the code with instructions for adapting it to new content.

You can also ask your agent to create project templates or shared components from the same work. Reuse a title sequence across episodes, adapt a product video for another launch, or create versions in several languages. Each follows the design choices and production rules you’ve already established.

## Track changes with Git

Keep your project code in Git to compare edits, restore earlier versions, and explore alternatives on branches. Changes made in the editor and by your agent can be reviewed and committed together.

A shared repository can also support video production across a company. A design team can maintain the formats and production rules, while marketing, sales, and regional teams use them with their agents. Teams can review proposed changes before adopting them.
